Those who suffer the most are the chilren we are all

trying to protect. I spend a huge amount of time trying to

figure out why and how this situation has been allowed to prosper.

It is now more common than not.

Some of the factors that I think must be considered and addressed:

1. Winn at all costs and always doing more is the only way to get there.

2. Playing three sports at the same time is trendy-parent pride.

3. The belief that being on a team is increasingly a selfish journey where

individual growth is more important than team development.

4. Those parents promoting the multi-sport at all costs dynamic, as they

believe kids never get tired and have not bothered to do the research.

Final Thoughts:

Youth sports should be more than just rankings, scholorships, and elite

performance. They should be a place where kids can grow, gain confidence,

and, most importantly, have fun. Right now , to many young athletes are

feeling overwhelmed by pressure and expectations. It is leading to

stress and burnout.

By shifting the focus back to enjoyment, skill development, and well-being,

we can help kids develop a lifelong love for sports. It’s time to create an

environment where young athletes feel supported – – not suffocated – –

by the games they play.
