We are excited to announce the Great Lakes Alliance Open House and Tryouts coming up soon! Great Lakes Alliance FC, a non-profit youth soccer organization, invites all interested boys and girls to participate in our upcoming events. Whether your child is looking to experience advanced training or try out for our competitive teams, these sessions are a fantastic opportunity. Below you’ll find details about the Open House and Tryout schedules, registration process, and what to expect.

Open House (June 2–5)

Join us for our Open House training sessions during the week of June 2nd through 5th. This is a great chance for players to get a feel for our program in a fun, no-pressure environment. All skill levels are welcome – come ready to learn and play! Here are the key details for the Open House:

– Dates & Time: Monday, June 2 through Thursday, June 5 (evening sessions). Exact times for each age group will be provided on our website.

– Who Can Attend: Boys and girls born between 2008 and 2017 (approximately ages 8–17). Players will be grouped by age so everyone can train with peers.

– What to Expect: Skills training and mini scrimmages led by our experienced, certified coaches. It’s a free, fun training experience to improve your game and meet our coaching staff.

– Location: All Open House sessions will be held at Kyte Monroe Park (our home soccer fields). Check the website for field details and schedules by age group.

– CostFree of charge! There is no cost to attend the Open House sessions. Just come ready to play (don’t forget shin guards, water, and a soccer ball).

The Open House is open to everyone – whether you’re currently in AYSO Region 158 or new to our community. Feel free to attend one or all of the sessions! Parents can also meet the coaches and ask questions about our program during these dates.

Tryouts (June 7–8)

Ready to take your game to the next level? Our official team tryouts for Alliance 158 will be held on Friday, June 7 and Saturday, June 8. We encourage all players interested in joining our competitive travel teams to attend. Tryouts will allow players to showcase their skills and passion for soccer in a supportive environment. Key details for Tryouts:

1. Dates: Friday, June 7 & Saturday, June 8. (Two days of tryouts to ensure everyone gets a fair evaluation.)

2. Schedule: Tryout sessions are organized by age group/gender. **Each age division will have a specific time slot** on these dates. For example, younger age groups may have morning sessions and older groups in the afternoon or evening. Please refer to the schedule on our website for your child’s exact tryout time.

3. Locations: Tryouts will take place at our local fields.

– Kyte Monroe Park: Most age groups will have their tryout sessions here.

– Gaffke Park: Certain age groups (e.g., some younger divisions) may have sessions at Gaffke Park. (The website’s tryout schedule will indicate the correct location for each age group.)

4. Who Should Try Out: Boys and girls born between 2008 and 2017 who are interested in competitive travel soccer. Both current AYSO players and new players from the community are welcome – we encourage anyone passionate about soccer to come give it a try!

5. What to Bring: Soccer cleats, shin guards, athletic attire, water bottle, and plenty of enthusiasm. We will provide pinnies and balls if needed.

6. CostFree. There is no fee to try out for Alliance 158 teams. As a non-profit organization, we want to make this opportunity accessible to all interested players.

7. Team Selection: Players who impress during tryouts may be invited to join one of our Great Lakes Alliance SCS travel teams for the upcoming season. These teams (part of the AYSO Alliance competitive program) will train through the year and participate in higher-level leagues and tournaments. We have teams across multiple age groups, and all selections will be communicated via email/phone after the tryouts.

Our coaches and evaluators aim to create a positive, encouraging atmosphere at tryouts. Even if your child is new to competitive soccer, we urge them to attend and do their best– we value effort, teamwork, and a great attitude just as much as skill. It’s a learning experience regardless of the outcome!

Online registration is required for both the Open House and Tryouts. This helps us plan for the correct number of players and ensures we have your contact information for any schedule updates.
